Why go digital when we need our own antenna?

So by next year Dec 2018 Mediacorps go digital. Not onli we need to change to digital tv BUT we also need an ACTIVE Antenna (best to have one with amplifier), as our TV antenna and SCV antenna doesn't work on digital. Oni way is for pay tv with Singtel or Starhub, really damn shit.

I dun mind changing to digital tv but it's the Antenna part. Unless the digital tv comes with a good pairing active antenna but even then there is another main plug for this device. Really troublesome.

Make us wired up SCV antenna and cannot use.

Anyone has lobang for digital setup box for analog tv?

Am wondering if i shd get a digital tv instead since tv isn't too costly these days. After all, my current tv is 8.5yrs old and e remote control isn't working well.

I also thought of the box instead of new tv, but the current tv remote alr no good. So I think change tv better. Seems like tv remote spoil faster than tv.

Can suggest what key words to search, or do you have any link to the ad? It's quite an alien product to me, with the various different range, don't know which works.

HD DVB-T2 Digital TV Box??

Singapore is DVB-T2. Pls note T and T2 different, dun buy wrongly.

Some China sellers will put for Singapore or Mediacorps.

Difference in price and specs to look for.
Some still without HDMI output so pls check.
Best buy those that can record tv channel.
Also buy those with mediaplayer playback with format for mp4, rmvb, avi at least.
USB port and memory card input both are important.
With google play included so that you can donwload other apps is good.
Most give passive antenna, ask for active antenna abt 30db gain.

So a good one is actually a multi purpose box.

Thank you both for the good advise. Now I've a better idea how to search Else gong gong, see so many ads, wonder which works on our digital tv network.
