It's easy to maintain one although mine failed.. the reason i failed is coz i overfed and change too much water =p.. u know sometimes character kiasu also will cause the system to fail..

same experience with my IQ5 and IQ3, both pumps went down less than a year. My current IQ5 pump now has lost 50% of it's flow no idea why. Suggest u get a back up, the last time I bought it at less than $7

I suggest Ehiem 300 or 600, cost is more expensive but it has 3 year warrenty. Another advantage it produce less heat.
