a piece of the ocean at home, one that i can call my own, i think its worth it la even at this price, more so since this tank is 10 years in the making.

no regrets setting it up. even though i had to restart it totally once when reactor was on full blast during initial set up and all the black rowa entered the tank, covering all the rocks and effectively turning my white sandbed into a black one. that really sucked.

Haha bro, I'm like you...don't like 2nd hand stuff. I'd rather pay more to get peace of mind + warranty. Personal preference la.

Marine is definitely a more expensive hobby, but what I like about it is that in terms of maintenance, most things can be automated to cut down on actual maintenance time. I spend less time maintaining my marine tanks than my freshwater tanks.

i dont like second hand stuff for everything actually. hahaha., spoilt, i know.

my marine tank is still quite manual in terms of maintenance, not that high-tech yet. no automated feedings, water top-ups, turning on of lights. everything still manual, but i enjoy it la.
