Default Arowana seems to be holding food in Mouth > 1 day

Anybody experienced this? I fed my arowana yesterday with fish.
today i noticed he seems to be holding something inside his mouth and chewing on it too? I think its still the fish i fed him yesterday.
any advise? should i try to put him to sleep and try to take the fish out?
anybody experienced this before?

Is he behaving naturally or struggling to get the food out from his mouth?

I have a few adults who will always hold food in their mouth too.

not really struggling, its like he is chewing, or like holding eggs.
this is a 9 year old male gold aro
wish my reds would hold eggs like him holding his food...
fortunately i don't have female goldie to try with him
