Silver Sharks are very tame fishes which wun attack on other fishes... I did had a few silver sharks with my 1.5 Grade red and they lived well together until 1 fateful day.... my 1.5 Red decide to have it for dinner....
Silver Sharks growth rate is very slow so if really wanna mix... I dun think can mix for a long time. |

My main reasons to opt for Silver Sharks against Clown loaches and Datnoids ( Tigers ) was that they are very hardy and can even survive Aro Jaw Bites!
The word SHARKS and Dragons were a perfect match. So are Tigers but clown may be out. As per the issue on cost, I believe the market is retailing 2" to 3" at $2-$4. Now, I am holding my Aros and Silver Sharks in a 4 Ft. And as you know Aros are tempremental eaters. Sometimes they do clear my leftover MPs but often they don't. It is a real hassle to clear the moving bits else, deteriote water conditions, turn mouldy and possible introduce infection. STs are an expensive bunch too! Since I was in need of quantity I causually took over a fresh bag of silvers from a LFS in bedok. manage to reduce the cost from $4 to $2.50. they were 2" then. Other magic I learnt was that they are not a fussy eater. On top of clearing my MPs, he shrewed bits of SWs and meal worms were cleared by them. Oh.. blood worms too.. Never had white worms but I believe "they" clear them up. I had 18pcs in my community tank and it was a sight to see. On top of that, Silver Sharks are low and mid fishes, they like depth and usual ascend up in groups. Good number 18. On a 1 week holiday where I left some feeders and pellets after they last hearty meal.. I ended with 3 causalities. so balance 15. After parting with my silvers today.. I realise I could only afford 1 ST @ $40. I traded 15 silvers of 1 ST!!! Now I am busy picking up uneaten MPs. Any other bro with experience on Silver Sharks. I will dabble abit on Aro vs Sharks later. From the PMs and calls receieved, I could have sold 50pcs of Silvers on sunday alone. |

Your Aros are Hungry! Should your daily or altenate feeds be sufficient, no such things will happen. Aro eats and bites ANYTHING! I have a 14" Aro with my group of 3" SS.. I noted some split fins and silver dots on the sand and realise the Silvers intrude into the Aros AirSpace which automatically started the US led war. Of course my DMZ were the hiding places like rocks, drift woods and plants. Yes, Silver Sharks are a causal bunch and gets along with everyone! Still cannot forget the hard lefts and rights when they swim in a group. Maybe ZenRoger can give us his view when he introduces my batch of silver sharks with his RTG. |

Silver Sharks, Nice name.
Never cross my mind on having them as tank mates. Do you have a pic of those in a Aro tank? |
