I was suggesting to Saint-Kid that normal light ballasts (correct me if I'm wrong with the techinical term) from DIY shops could be used, coupled with a head/tail socket for the light tube. (probably 2-3 feet tube).

Another easier way is to get ready made 2-3 feet light housings (those that come with a simple white metal casing used in cofee shops). The water proofing needs to be secure though.

Any additional suggestions?
Alvin.

Thanks for the suggestion. I would like to get the shop to fix it for me if possible as i do not have any expertise hooking up a light into aluminium case *g*

Dangerous? Why? It is water proof and supposed to be submerged in the water. Nice effect.
