Reduce the outlet velocity by having bigger flow section area.

How?

If possible bigger outlet opening or increase the number of outlets.

i put a piece of sponge at the hole of the outflow to reduce the water speed of my discus tank. can also raise the water level to few mm juz below the tip of the outflow pipe.

hi bro

3000L is ok for 4ft tank mah.

i am using tom800 also 3000L/hr.
actually i feel it is still underpowered. still alot shite in the sand.
so i use another sunsun wavemaker 3000L/hr to blow the shite to the pump to suck them up.

I am currently using ehiem 1260 for my 4 x 2 x 2 tank with OHF ( 3 x 3 trays). I also find the outflow too strong. Will it help if i create few holes in the outlet and inlet? I dun quite understand how does submerging the outlet in water help. I think the strength of the current will still be there, just that we cant see and hear?

try drilling 2 more rows of holes along the rain bar. helps to spread the water on the trays too.

Join the elbow to point the output upwards. That will break the pressure and disperse over a grearter area. If not, can try without the base, let the water flow out of the tray direct which works like a rain bar.
