Agreed, Irvin. These Essequibo angels look like they have traits from both peruvian and manacapuru in them. Those i got from the initial batch of imports JZX did last year also spawned but i lost the fry. One thing I love about wild type angels is they tend to grow larger and have a more aesthetically pleasing body shape (more akin to altums, ie taller) than regular angels.

Will be hoping to repeat the spawning feat soon. Hope you'll share pictures of the fry growing up.

Hi Jit, good to hear that yours have bred too. At least it shows that breeding wild type angels is not as daunting as it seems. I'm pretty sure they will breed for you soon.
