Setting up new goldfish tank

Hi all,

Have a query. I have an empty 3 ft tank. Plan to keep just 2-4 ryukins inside. Size should be about 3 4 inches type. However, I don't think I want to use OHF though i have one. Makes feeding very troublesome.

Do you think its ok if I keep 2-4 ryukins in the tank with just a simple sponge filter and WC once every week?

hmm i guess that will depend on how much u feed?

oh yes. diet most probably would be frozen bw and pellets. 2 to 3 times a day. You guys think this can work?

Definately won't be enough filtration in there.

It's not about turning on the OHF or not. It's that you must understand gf is one of the high bioload fish which require proper filtration.

For your consideration...

I using Eheim Canister 2260 with wool plus one internal pump (800l/hr) and both pump water thru a OHF with about 7kg media for my 3 ft tank that house 10 GFs

If you are not planning to use a ohf, maybe u can at least consider a cannister.

a sponge filter will not be enough. just my 2 cents.
