Martial is the better dribbler, miki tend to hold the ball longer. Rashford still lacked the killer pass

Manchester United prepared to rival Real Madrid with £170m transfer bid for Tottenham striker Harry Kane
PUBLISHED: 16:01 BST, 12 October 2017 | UPDATED: 18:55 BST, 12 October 2017 Manchester United have made Harry Kane their top transfer target for next year's summer window and are willing to battle it out with Real Madrid for his signature. Reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid are already prepared to open the bidding for the Tottenham striker with an offer in the region of £170million. And according to The Sun, United are happy to match that bid for Kane — with Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho a long-term admirer of the forward. The England striker has scored 15 goals in 13 appearances for club and country so far this season despite failing to find the back of the net in his first three matches of 2017-18. Overall, he has hit 84 goals in 120 Premier League appearances for his boyhood club Tottenham. United are reportedly prepared for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to move on when the 36-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season, meaning a new striker would be high on Mourinho's list of priorities. Kane is expected to be named England captain on permanent terms by Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Kane has scored 15 goals in 13 appearances for club and country so far this season The 24-year-old was selected as skipper in both of England's last two matches, against Slovenia and Lithuania, and struck the decisive goal in both of those 1-0 victories. United are second in the Premier League with 19 points from seven matches, while Tottenham are one place and five points behind. Mourinho's men head to Anfield to play Liverpool on Saturday, while Tottenham host Bournemouth at Wembley. Kenny Dalglish insists there was never any bad blood between him and Sir Alex Ferguson as the former Man Utd manager attend a ceremony honouring the Liverpool legend. Anfield's Centenary Stand will officially become the Kenny Dalglish Stand on Friday ahead of Liverpool's encounter with arch-rivals United this weekend. Among the guests at Friday's renaming ceremony will be Dalglish's family, friends and former teammates, as well as Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton. "His actions speak louder than 1,000 words with him and Sir Bobby coming over," Dalglish said of Ferguson. "They did exactly the same after Hillsborough. They were over here early. There is rivalry on and off the pitch but when it comes to something like that there is not even a doubt about it -- they will be over here supporting us and hopefully we would do the same for them. "Away from working, there has never been a problem with him. Never, ever been a problem. "We defended our football clubs and our fans as best we could. How can you criticise someone who is totally supportive of his club? That is what you want as a supporter -- someone who is defensive of your club and wants to make a contribution. He made a massive contribution to Manchester United. "If someone came to manage Liverpool and never stood their corner, I don't think the punters would be happy with that. He was exactly the same for Manchester United. "He represents his club fantastically well and I have tried my best to represent the club I was at. I don't see anything wrong with that. "After the end of the game, there was never any animosity or dissent from either of us. There would always be a drink. "When I came back [for second spell as manager] and we had that first game at Old Trafford he shouted to me when I was walking on to the pitch 'are you coming in for a drink after?' "I said to him: 'What do you mean? I've always been in for a drink!' He said: 'Aye, I know. But it's changed a wee bit now.' I said: 'Not for me it hasn't.' __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ______________________________________________ There are lots of people who tried to sow discord between fans of the two clubs, insisting Dalglish and Ferguson hated each other, when clearly their actions show they don't. Hopefully, these words by Dalglish himself, puts this whole non-story to bed. |
