Has anyone tried any of the clip on fan? those running on batteries and with "soft" blade that you see at DIY stores? Are these effective?

Thanks,
CH

Dymax Vortex fan is nice and neat because of it's slim factor but very noisy. I diy a dc adapter to reduce voltage thus sound went down a bit.

Another option is Mr Aqua. Ex but effective and quite silent

Also using the ANS fan and a DIY pc fan on another tank...Water temp i guess very dependant on ambient+lighting?Estimated at least 2 degrees drop for mine.Problem is quite noisy...

Using fan will just reduce 1-3 degrees from the existing tank temperature. I had tried using two CPU fans but still the same.

If you are keeping plants that need lower temperature range, best is to get a chiller.
