light for tetra tank
Hi, my tank currently has neon tetra and cory. However the light that I'm using tends to overpower the colour of the tetra. Meaning to say when I on my tank light, the blue and red of the tetra becomes pale. My tank is a very small tank (those $12 glass tank). Using led white lights that is cliped onto the side of the tank.
How do you have a light but yet keep the colour of the tetras bright? I've tried finding blue led lights that are cliped onto the side of the tank but can't find. Thanks. |

Hmm might consider the plants. I was also thinking of pasting a blue film on the light so that the light would be blueish instead of white. Would that be possible? Any ideas of where I can get blue translucent film for lights?

Bro...there are these Aquasonic 36LEDs (24W +12 Blue), they have 2 switch.
Else there is the Dymax marine which is a tint of blue. They also seem much brighter than the white. Most larger LFS have the Aquasonic or similiar LEDs, just look out for the 24+12 or 12+8 combos. |

You can paste black oyama paper or use black sands to cover the bottom. If still not dark enough, you can paste black oyama on both sides...

Are the tetras newly introduced?
They need to stabilize before showing their colors. If the light is switched on once in a while, the tendency is their colors will be washed out the moment you on the lights. By the way, neons will have lesser contrast of blue/red as compared to cardinals. Should regain after a while with the lights on. |
