Btw....
When Is The Next General Election? What's your guess? I hear a few kopi tiam talk, ppl saying it will be next year. My guess is also next year. Singapore 50, stir up the public emotions of nationhood, sovereignty and patriotic emotions. Than snap election. When e emotions are high, can help increase their percentage. |

Was having lunch just, sitting next to me is two foreign talent and they were sharing how to get PR and NC. If one come here alone, the chances of PR/NC is lower. If he/she come with spouse, the chances will increase. Since from horses mouth, if the system is such, the govt clearly replacing us. Singapore future is for us? IMHO, NS is not experienced nor resourceful enough. Same for NSP.
What she can do is speak what ppl wants to hear. Dont view NS as being of any threat to PAP nor of any use to SG except to spite the PAP. Its a good move on her part to take leave now. She needs to build up her experience and network. Doubt she will be back in any big way, any time soon. Unless she joins a good kao san. Apologies to her fans, my 2 cents. Think when the dust settles only WP and TCB will still be around. Looking forward to next GE. |

Obviously the PAP has a better machinery than all the political parties combined. I can't say the same for some of its candidates though. Admittedly, some opposition candidates hv axes to grind and this is where the electorate should discern. As for PAP candidates, most of them are not even grassroots. they need to be persuaded to stand for election, to do something for the people. IMHO, these are not natural leaders. They become political candidates because of career path. One on one, I do believe Nicole Seah will beat Tin Pei Ling. But I dun see politics as threats. |

So sad NS left, hopefully for a break and back with force for the next election.
To NS, our heart is always with you, no matter how high is the mountain and how deep is the sea, we will follow you. We believe you can hantam some of the boot lickers and party stooges. Tin Tin is a cartoon character. |

I also take exceptions when you state that she is not of any use to Singapore. She made an impact to many of us and is one of the most popular politicians in Singapore. Her legacy is to make TPL more focused on the needs of the older and poorer citizens. You think TPL's interest in joining politics was to help the poor and needy residents? I don't think that was what she went in for. Her job is done for now and many Singaporeans are grateful to her for what we are getting from the government today. It is likely that without her in the last elections, the scenario would be very different today. |
