Arowana Fanatics Club (Singapore)

We are pleased to announce the successful registration of the Arowana Fanatics Club (Singapore) with the Registry of Societies.

The UEN number is T09SS0127D.

The first main committee comprise of the following members on a one year term. Subsequent office bearers will be elected by the ordinary members annually.

The club's objectives are

1)To encourage appreciation and enjoyment of the Arowana species through knowledge sharing, education and actual practice

2)To foster friendship amongst local and international hobbyists and breeders.

3)To establish and promote a commonly recognized breed standard for show quality arowana.

4)To advance the quality and standard of each breed through research and new technologies.

We are currently looking for a clubhouse in a CITES farm as a facility for our members. We are also doing some groundwork in preparation for the recruitment of members.

There will be 4 types of memberships.

1. Honorary Members. (nominated members approved by the main committee)

2. Ordinary Members. (individual hobbyist)

3. Associate Members (arowana farms)

4. Associate Members (other related aquatic commercial entities)

Joining and Annual Fees will be announced later when we are able to finalise the benefits.

Sanctioned Activities for arowana related entities

All activities pertaining to arowanas and it's keeping, eg courses, group buys, auctions, harvesting, farm visits, will henceforth have to be organised under the AFC umbrella. Private individual organised events will not be sanctioned by AF. It undermines the work put in by the club and it creates a conflict of interest between participating farms in AFC and non-participating farms. We will only conduct visits to AFC member farms and only open to AFC members.
