Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Sweden defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica for £31m (35m euros).

United say the deal is now subject to international clearance, the agreement of personal terms and a medical, which will take place next week.

Lindelof, who has been capped 12 times by his country, is due to play in a friendly in Norway on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old centre-back, who has been with Benfica since 2012, will be United's first signing of the summer.

Lindelof made 47 appearances for the Portuguese side last season, helping them win a domestic league and cup double.

Was watching the France vs England game.
France is certainly a force to be reckoned with Dembele and Mbappe plus Pogba running riot at the England's defense. France won 3-2 even with 10 man for almost 40mins when Varane was send off for a "last man" foul

Yup...love this player's performances at Dortmund. Got to give credit to the scout at the German club.
Recommended unknown players and helped Unearthed many talents over the years although they were once very productive promoting youngsters from the academy under Klopp.

Would not be surprised to see top clubs fighting for his signature.

Wayne Rooney’s Manchester United future was plunged into fresh doubt after being removed from the club’s Facebook cover image.

The United captain is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer after being pushed to the fringes of Jose Mourinho’s squad.

But he insists he is still to make a final decision - instead considering his options while holidaying with his family in Greece.

United appeared to give the clearest indication yet that their captain will depart after wiping him from advertising on their Facebook page.

Rooney had been used alongside Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Jesse Lingard to promote the club's new Adidas away strip.

But the latest image on their page, which has 73 million likes, now just features Pogba, Herrera and Lingard.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted the change, sparking widespread reaction on social media.

United have since removed the original image altogether - leaving the one without Rooney in place.

The 'Iceman' had landed ...

VICTOR LINDELOF has arrived in England for his medical ahead of completing his £35million move to Manchester United.

The Benfica defender touched down in the UK this morning as he prepares to become United’s first signing of the summer.

Lindelof was collected by a United official after flying into Manchester, and driven in to the club’s training ground in a club Chevrolet car.

He will undergo his medical today and barring any surprise findings is set to put pen to paper on a five-year deal at Old Trafford.

The club hope to make a formal announcement he has become a United player within the next 24 hours as they try to wrap up their transfer business early.

More to follow ...

Look forward to how we match up against the rest in EPL with CL next season.

Start off with the European Supercup against RM first.
