Tink i only washed out ONE compartment Once hahahhahahaa for my 5yr old sump system in my old 6 2.5 2.5.... Washed 1st one then thought carry on nx one a mth later....

yup, I do that with my other sump tanks but this tank the sound not an issue so didn't do that.

what i do is make sure the wools in the first compartment are very very fine, trapping as much dirt particles as possible.
The result - very "clean" bio balls/sump medias in the other compartments hence minimal maintainence. Only thing to do is to replace the wool with clean new ones, BB remains untouched in the other medias nice clip! |
