It is not a good practice..
Let's say you come across the following offers:
1. Cert written xb. Shine reaches only 5th level with pearlies
2. Cert written hb. Shine reaches 6th level with pearlies
3. No cert. Shine reaches 6th level with nice pearlies. Price is the lowest among the 3

Which one will you choose?

Yes. this is my first aro
I got it from M'sia and I think is reasonable price at RM300 (after small discount).

Here are pictures when I first see it
I still find it handsome aro (i think is male)

I will not buy any of the above.
For me, I will go for aro with tag from reputable farm. See fish dun see cert will be a risky unless Im going for adult fish. Juv fishes are difficult to see potential.

Need some advise.

5 months ago, I bought Aro around 6" length and I was informed it belong to xBack species. Today is 5 months later, my Aro is 12" length and the gold just reach on 4 scales (1 scales up from middle scale line).

Yesterday, I was in the shop and asking the seller why my Aro gold cant go up like normal xBack. He said if my tank is not full white then xBack could become highback.
Obviously background of my tank is stones photo (kind dark grey). Does what he said is true that xback can become highback due to tank environment

Here is my aro which taken last Aug/Sep with white light.

No hint of this fish being a CrossBack

I believe not every piece from a single brood will be promising even if they came from quality brooders.

Hi bro's.
I called the aquarium shop and showing them above picture.
They checked with breeder and according to them sometimes the Aro could jump from 1 pond to another pond (not sure r they still using pond to breed)

Anyway, they will exchange with xback when stock available

I already hv some "feeling" with my aro, not sure want to change or not when available

Bro, if it is so the breeder should refund you the difference between the price of an xb & a rtg
