My own observation is the chasing behaviour starts around 9 am while the actual spawning begins around 10:30 to 11 am. The female smokes her satisfying after-sex cigarette around noon.
What I meant was the temp at that period is generally lower than the average temp of the whole day.
I presumed different fishes have different preference, for my black female, she would always spawn at 5 ~ 6 am in the morning especially in the colder morning (like December period.) From what I gather from other fellow members on the other thread, some of their fishes may start later like 8 ~ 9 am. But never in the afternoon.
