Above post is contrary to my understanding, thot that we are voting for the candidate of a party, If MP dies/resigns/etc, the only way to replace him is by a by-election. No way party can simply find a replacement. Hope poster can clarify.

i stand corrected. rather the party has a choice NOT to have a by-election even when a MP (in a GRC) has passed on as stated by PM. instead the PM chose to spread the duties among the other remaining MP of the GRC.

as for single ward, i supposed there might be a by-election but it does not seemed to have happened lately. of course lah.... how many single ward are there anyway.
