For a 3ft tank you can start off with 2~3 packets (10kg each) first, depending on how deep u want the sand to be. Having a fine layer of sand is better than having no layer at all. You can always top up later if u want. For a 4ft tank...maybe 2~4 packets (10kg each).

Just make sure to thoroughly wash n rinse the sands first.

I will be getting a big bag of 25kg not enough for both 3 and 4ft? I calculate online both need around 18kg only?

Anyone which lfs have good pricing for coral sand? I thought of getting from mainland at $15/25kg

as long as pricing not too much difference. i would just buy from the one nearest home and grab a cab home.
