Default hello all

Hi all,

i intend to convert my 4 by 1.5 by 1.5 tank into a freshwater community tank with cardinal tetras, and some platies and mollies, with some simple plants. Im currently using a OHF system. i do not plan to inject any CO2.

with regards to gravel/substrate, is it necessary to clean it?

plants like nana do not require CO2 injection?

many thanks all.

For me, I don't really clear the substrate since my fish load is not heavy. As for nana, CO2 injection is not require as long as you replenish the CO2 through weekly water change.

my 4 feet light currently has one T5 tube, 40W and my 4 feet tank's capacity is 60 gallons.

that would prob work out to be 0.66 WPG. im aiming for a low-tech set up. is this light good/strong enough for hardy plants?

Pretty low ... try it first and then supplement? You will also have to use liquid fertilizers.
