Seems like the mom is not taking them in already? Well.. I cant say for sure, but usually there is more than 1 fry. Is the mom still holding?

Once the female completely spat out ALL her fries.....around 3 weeks incubation period, its best to remove all the fries (or the mother) and raise them separately as a stressed mother may cannibal fries. Pump and condition the mother first before introducing her back into the com tank as the male is an aggressive killer.
Fries are quite large...and can be fed with many types of food. For simplicity sake, just 1) crushed some pellets/flakes with water, and feed sparingly to avoid cloudy-ing the water. Feed few times daily. For optimum result, can either buy 2) 'live' bbs (baby brine shrimps) or boon. I would go for option 1 as its easier and costs savings. Hope it helps. |

I am now putting my female in a breeding net in the comm tank. The mouth seems to be still slight brood, not sure whether she is done as it's only 11th day. So far I only have have 7 fries, is it normal? For the fries food I tried crushed pellet but they dun seems like it so I got some neon food powder from sea view.

Cute fry! Can barely see them though, haha..
Be careful not to overfeed, leftovers will worsen the condition of the water and fry can be more sensitive to it. Keep us updated. |
