It's always reaction rather than proactive. Similar to the e-scooter problem.

How can the regulator and companies not anticipate the problems. This is the fundamental of a good organisation to anticipate the problems or issues that will arise when a product is launched.

this problem also reflects badly on the bike renting population's behaviour ...
i am ashamed of the many instances where singaporeans are caught dumping
bicycles into canals and even thrown from high rise buildings
do we always need rules and regulations to behave properly ?

Some countries will be like this, and we have not reached the standards of norway and finland. In the above two countries, they have mature political environment. I suspect even then, if they are fustrated and things occur due to poor planning and issues are taichi, there is a 50% chance some of them may also behave like this. They vandalise as well.

Did you see the video of one OfO bike parked in the middle lane of a 3 lane busy mainroad? What is the culprit thinking of?

Much as we hate regulations but thprimative n rebellious (misvhief) mindset of these morons made it justifiable for gov to put in more regulations.

Cultural civilization is a far cry here. Some humans here.MUST BE treated like dogs.

I see otherwise. It's not politics but mindset. No amount of education can teach ill minded individuals to be good. Such are not humans but mere dogs. You can teach and trained dogs. Sorry, it isninsulting to dogs comparing such individuals

Look at Japan and Myanmar. Their politics are contrasting but Japanese are highly cultured and behaved. Not obedient but civic. Myanmar, if we recall sometime back, after a soccer match in SG, they clear their own thrash (cups, wrappers) while highly educated Singaporeans are opposite.

On one hand city planners hope for carless future, these bike schemes and autonomous cars are part of that future.

On the other hand, only the riff raff and rolling stones need such bike schemes at the moment. So we get monkeys using them mostly.

Japan culture is deeply rooted to be cohesive and neat. Their pple has much in common in values and behaviour. That is why they dun accept migrants easily, if want migrate there have to change to japanese name and follow their culture.

Singapore has no identity.
