New to cichlid.
Hey bros. I just started keeping african cichlid a few days ago. And i got myself 2 electric yellow and 2 dk what kind of species. Look like a albino. body shape same as electric yellow. Any bros can recommend the envionment? i only putting drifwood and rocks. But they dont seem to be hiding in there. Keep swimming around. Size wise around 1inch+. Any bros can recommend good malawi or tanganyika cichlid to be housed in a 2 feet tank?

Hi, driftwood would cause your pH to drop overtime which is not desired for an african tank. Some rocks as hiding places would be good enough already. As for which species, depends on what you like

That driftwood i got from a bro. So far so good. No yellow water or such. But i feel like keeping what ppl said cuckatoo cichlid. Or Multies. Which one is better? o.O And what kind of sand suits them? normal beach sand or lapis sand?

based on what i read but other bros do correct me if im wrong
malawi cichlids like fine sand (try fine marine sand they will dig around and it will increase high PH add some CC and rocks will do the trick. those yellow ones are most common malawi cichlids some LFS name them african prince which they have black stripes on their fins which i dunno right or wrong. i comm the malawis with fronts i dont see them fighting cross species. interesting thing is they only chase their same colour if u have several malawi cichlids in ur tank. multies are smaller and they might fight |
