bro please update on the "guppy" halfbeak

Half beaks are life bearers just like guppies, their off spring look quite similar when they are young. Half beaks youngster started with no beaks but as they grow will develop one. Half beaks are also known as wrestling halfbeaks, they occur from Thailand right through to Singapore. Scientific name: Dermogynus Pusillus.

With so much effort, resources and passion in this hobby, one thing stick out...have you considered the biotope approach, at least by country/continent?

By that, I believe you mean having setups that are zone specific right? Like a south american tank, asian tank, african etc. Yeah, have done that before but all bare tank. After a while, I guess the shape and color mixture got the better of me. When I get a new place, I will try to do that again, but this time it'll all be landscaped to their indegineous environment, till then.

One of the places that inspire me alot is the zoo. I go there at least once a month, not to look at their animals, but their fishes. They have very natural setups with rocks and roots etc. The night safari entrance toilet also has a fantastic setups of silver aros. The zoo itself has a cool school of snake heads with the croc exhibits. Pygmy hippos also got some cool stuff. I've seen a huge 1.2m aba aba, 60cm girraffe cat and many other monster fishes. They have a big 80cm alligator snapping turtle there too. Really inspiring. That's the kind of setup I aspire to.

Yes. It's personal preference of course....Just a bit jarring (IMHO) to see a Thai facing off an Indian for e.g., in such a great class collection where everything else is in place and space and resource are not as much a constraint.
