Got some info I got off the forum a long time ago:
LFS refills are by the pressure equalisation method. They connect your co2 tank with their big tank, open the valve and disconnect. Your cylinder gets refilled to the same pressure as theirs. The further down the line you are, the less value you get. At industrial places, they fill it up to the safe pressure limit your cylinder has.. It's cheaper and you get more gass. You get more value there. And one lfs uncle told me, if you buy unrated cylinders (like those green ones), you can only refill them at lfs. If you bring these to one those industrial places, they not only won't top up for you, they'll cut it in half and charge you $15 for destroying your 'unsafe' product. So you might want to weight the cost of a high-end co2 cylinder, with the cost of forever topping up a cheaper cylinder at lfs, because you have to keep it far away from those stupid people forever. Don't know if it's true. |

What th lfs uncle told u shouldn't be true. I got those green 'unsafe' cylinders and i always bring them to Fu Wo. They do not do the topping up themselves. They will call one of the factories to collect and top up the cylinders. I think the lfs uncle is trying to sell the more expensive types of cylinders. Personally i don't believe what the uncle said. |
