Well said, i live in europe and i have to admit the planted tanks etc. look nice, but are tougher to keep clean. Of course the fish would prefer to have a real environment around them, but whenever i buy a fish from a planted tank im a bit worried what might come with it. I also think the fish in europe stay way longer in the tanks than in SG. Most serious fish tank owners buy their fish from breeders and dont bother with visiting a LFS.

Why? Time to expand Sg and build more apartments and skyscrapers?

the only few plots of land for such use are in sungei tengah and pasir ris farmway. those in seletar have to make way for the new highway.

Having fish in nice decorative tank good marketing strategy I think. Even feeders would look nice in a scape tank.

In my humble opinion, there are also various kinds of LFS (including large pet shops with an established aquarium section) in Japan. Some are indeed like the one in the video, but there are also others that are not very much different from some of the LFS in Sg. Compared to those in Sg, the general Japanese pet shops are really "brilliant" in many ways; but in Sg, one can relatively easily visit a fish farm.
