Halimah came back to her home ground - Bukit Batok this morning to walk around. From the response of market goers, it's obvious she is popular here.

i think no one is against Halimah as a person ....... and I am very sure she would have got a lot of support had she stand 5 years ago against Tony Tan.
It is the system that people are unhappy about. The gerrymandering. The " I certify you malay or rather I certify you eligible " Is the same for Tony Tan. He said he decided to stand the last round because Singapore was in danger and he feels obliged to stand and make sure Singapore is good. He doesn't feel that way now ? He doesn't feel that way when SR Nathan was President ? Every Presidential election, one selected person, endorsed by UKnowWho, stand and says the same script ........ Why do people support Tan Cheng Bock ? He was from PAP too .... Was he no good as an MP ? PAP supported him as an MP ..... But the moment he decided to stand against the endorsed one, he becomes pariah with the establishment ..... U want a real elected president, then do this democratically Not put in someone u want and put down all others that u dun want Democracy in Singapore is highly manipulated ....... U said it is important to have at least one minority in each GRC, but when the minority resign, it is no longer important to have minority representation in that GRC ....... Ur argument works both ways ..... need is u say, no need is also u say it all depends on what suits ur agenda at the point in time ..... |

A lot only believes in the proven party which gives them absolute power to do things they wish, aka Suka Suka Government style.
Was that party proven when we went independent? Was that party not an Opposition before that? What do we have when we went independent? What do we have now? Are they (current) the same, noble selfless people who really wants the best for THE COUNTRY as we had in the early days. But! So long as you wear white you are the choose one. Well, so those who believes we need real change, will only just be wishful thinking. |
