The most effective chem is hydrochloric acid - but hard to find in SG as it is controlled. US can just buy off the shelf...

Can try citric acid. It is more powerful than vinegar and should eat away the lime quite fast. It is a baking ingredient and should not be hard to find.

Make sure you buffer water properly before doing stuff to avoid PH swing.
