tap water now at 7.8 PH
was doing daily water change, but was puzzled why my tank's ph has increased, notmally it was in the range of 7. i just added filter wool into my sump.
when i checked the tap water it was coming out now at 7.8 , before it was at 7. anything i should do? or i should be looking out for? not sure if the change is due to storms here stirring sediment in the water reservoir? any other preparation i should be doing? i usually do water change direct from tap , adding water conditioner before adding the tap water. |

You could treat the water in a separate barrel or tank before filling your main tank.
Water conditioner + air stone for a day or 2. |

thanks I do add water conditioner into the tank before tap water goes in.
but Ph ended at 7.8 . I usually do direct tap water change. dosing with anti chlorine into main tank before adding tap water. |

dont worry. tap water ph will drop very fast. my tap water ph is 8+. added into the tank will increase the ph to high 7 but after a day, it will drop back to around 7.

last time at Jurong my tap water also shoot to ph8 and above.
Once in the tank wif WC etc... it simply balances out to ph7. my rays did pretty well too. If worried can consider puttin Driftwood or K leaves in lor. |
