Registration: Keeping Ancient Fish Using Modern Techniques Presented by OTF
Dear members
Ever wondered why your fishes suddenly stop eating, why they suddenly become listless, why they remain stationary in a corner, why suddenly loses it’s colour, why the pH keep fluctuating despite the treatment you prescribe, why the water suddenly turned cloudy and why your fishes keep dying without obvious reasons, etc, etc…. If you have these questions in your head, then you must attend our coming AFC event brought to you by OTF. This event will give u an insight why fishes suddenly stop eating, water suddenly turned cloudy, how this technology can reduce water change n yet improve overall growth, color, increase spawning, enhance health & reduce mortality etc... Event Details: 19 February 2011 (Saturday) OTF AQUARIUM FARM 63, Pasir Ris Farmway 3, Singapore 518233 website: www.otf.com.sg Map: http://www.otf.com.sg/location.htm Programme: 09:00am - Attendance taking 09.30am – Farm Tour (include Arowana and Freshwater Stingray Breeding Facility) 10.30am – Brief Introduction of Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital 10.45am – Product Introduction 11.15am – Lunch (Halal Buffet) 12.30pm – Talk by Matthew Tan, including Q&A 02.30pm – End of Programme (Note: The Organiser reserves the right to change the Programme without prior notice.) We are delighted to have a very special speaker, Mr Matthew Tan, who will be speaking about their famed Hydrocavitation Recirculating Aquaculture. Mr Tan is the CEO of SIF Agrotechnology Asia Pte Ltd, a regional environmental engineering that specializes in water treatment for the aquaculture industry. He is also a Consultant in NTU’s School of Materials Science and Engineering. He has been extensively involved in application R&D for chemical free water treatment processes for aquaculture industry and his company is currently the only land based farm in Singapore that uses a Hydrocavitation Recirculating Aquaculture system for the breeding of food fish, which is also relevant to ornamental fish. We will also be introducing products that are currently being used by top Freshwater Stingray breeders and Arowana enthusiasts in Taiwan – filter media, water conditioner and medication (human grade). If we are lucky, we may even get the chance to see some harvesting, though we cannot confirm this until the actual day. As OTF is also a strong supporter of Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital (KWSH), we have also arranged for a representative from KWSH to tell us a little more about their commitment towards providing quality healthcare to the sick and needy in Singapore and how all of us can help the less fortunate. KWSH will be selling some souvenirs from the Singapore Mint at the event venue and will also be placing a donation box there. There is no need to feel obligated to buy or donate. But if you are able to help, you will be happy to know that 100% of your donation will benefit those in need. For more information of KWSH http://www.kwsh.org.sg/abt_kws.htm Only 45 places are available and it is free for AFC Ordinary Members. Therefore, AFC members who registered and do not turn up will be "disciplined" by the AFC Committee.
