From the diagram , it is the shape of a pond /fgt design.
So if monsters fish are kept in big enough area , coupled with this eco sands system shd be able to reduce bio load. Not forgetting to put in some lotus plants or pandan leaves in a ' protected area' within the pond/fgt to further reduce nitrites and ammonia. |

I seen a system in Malaysia.
The sand bed was 20 inches thick. The company supplies the sand and their secret mix of biobacteria. Water tasted and smelled great.

saw this system in hortpark last week. water looked good, but bioload was quite little. i personally use a DIY fluidized sand filter. handles an amazing amount of bioload (≈40kg) and made it for only $100.

Hey bros, any update on this filter usage yet? They said they would come by once yearly at a fee to do maintenance, but would'nt that mean that the aro has to be shifted out? And anyone knows roughly how long the bacteria will need to re-establish itself after a major cleaning?
very interesting if they maintenance is a breeze, btw, did they specify the voltage needed for their pumps to run on big tanks? 6ft up.. If they have a different colour gravel, I'm almost sold.. |
