T5 HO light tube Replace regularly?

Hi guys do you all replace ur light tube after 6 months? or whenver you all feel like changing? Expensive wor one 6500k Osram.

mine PL tubes are already 3 years old.. :P
I will change when they don't light up.
one thing to consider is to have a ceiling light to be the same as your planted tank, so after 6 months you take out, you can use it for your living room or bed room after that

oh my! now I think of converting my aquarium lights to 55W PL !!! so that my bedrooms, living rooms and kitchen can use the recycled tube!

Yup, I'm doing the same thing as bro fireblade. This the 6mths, 9mths thingy is a sales gimmick. May be true, may be false...let's leave it to the mythbusters. But at home my plants are telling me tat they're green and healthy from my ... I forgot when I last changed them tubes.

Orsam t5 ho .80watts /8k and 10k mixture of tube 6 pcs.ballest german brand.custom made.t5 lightset.6 light tube last me for about a year .before both of the side blacken.on for 12hrs daily.another tank with 54watts 8pcs tube 2 set of t5ho china brand.about 4mths only light tube blacken and some blow by itself.and follow by ballest spoilt.
