Calcium should be around 350-450ppm, Magnesium around 1300ppm. Also, kH needs to be between 8-12. All these 3 parameters go hand in hand, so neither parameter should be too far off(Eg. low calcium but high kH).

bros, thanks for your advise. I guest my water params is really suck, like one of the bro said they are living in the toilet bowl. I just bought some new tester and did a test before I do a 20% water changed this AM (Tonight will do another round of test and update you).
This is the results. 1/ PH - 8.0 or 8.6 (I can't really differentiate the color, need help here. chart as the background look very green/blue but without background look blue). 2/ NO3 - 25% or 50% (help needed. chart as background look like 50% without look like 25%). For the skimmer, what is the recommondation? Can I install those hangon one? Happy New Year to my bros. BG. |

wool - de nitrate - seagel or phosguard - live rocks http://www.seachem.com/Products/prod...denitrate.html http://www.seachem.com/Products/prod...es/SeaGel.html http://www.seachem.com/Products/prod...PhosGuard.html if you can keep some chaeto btw i am not a seachem salesman, recommend their product because its cheap and good |

for optimum result, all chemical media must change regularly
hearsay - carbon and phosphate media might "leak back" chemical once it max out |

bro, should i build the LR with many hidden places? will that collect dirt and make the water flow diff to clean the debres? Apparently, my LR are not lean against the backpanel glass wall. I built it as half circle meaning that water flow 360. Will that be a problem for the LS?

You can build your LR structure upon an eggcrate base(Use eggcrates together with PVC pipes) to improve water flow between the LR and yet allow for plenty of hiding spaces for your fish within the rockwork. Basically, the eggcrate + PVC provides a structure for your rock to rest upon.

hi guy, can I always change the landscaping of my LR? Will it impact the water params?
After my 20% change of water (40 litres), the NO3 still beyond 50. So, I decided to change another 20% tomorrow. Am I doing the right thing? I do add anti-clorine for the WC. |
