a pump rate of 900l/hr might be better, imho.
if i were to buy that model, i would source for a bigger pump that will fit into the filter.
Thanks bro, yes you're right, a bigger pump should be used. but for my case, i find it okay because my altums don't really like high flow.. do let us know if u manage to find a larger pump that can fit in.

another thing you guys should take note, the back of the filter may habour risk of small fishes getting trapped inside. my 2inch small IT was trapped inside as he swim in through the top opening and not knowning how to swim out.. i suggest placing the filter just slightly above water level.

I noticed that too when I was at Seaview just now and opened the box to have a look. I wonder why they didn't extend the plastic further, unless the whole idea is to put the filter sticking above water level, which doesn't really make much sense as to why it should be placed like that. (Esp. since there is a inlet close to the top of the filter.) It's a bit of wasted space too IMO.

Although I think it can be easily fixed by attaching/silicon a piece/strip of black acrylic/plastic to cover it up though.

This is kinda like a design flaw probably, they didn't though of fish trapping inside.. probably can cut a eggcrate to exact size and just fit in.

Yes his intention for dymax is to fill it with media for biofiltration booster.

Fx5 only load about 5 litre media space and comes with sufficient mechanical pads as well.

Nevertheless a good write up to show available alternative filters.

Interesting

Yes indeed, i find Fx5 though a very good filter, cannot really pack alot of bio media.. so have to source for other alternative bio filtration.
