Who is KOH??...
I also need tips.
Fry with parents in the same tank i also notice but those are escapees and usually 2-3pcs will outgrow the siblings. I dont know if the qty and tank size plays apart or not?

Anyway, when u said the fries grow faster, is the food amount is the same and also is the tank size for fries and parent is the same and also the filtration also the same? all play a part.....

wa shiok got 3ft growout tanks.
i think should be ok ba, if they can get food in a 3ft with parents around, why not when the parents are not, more chances mah.
but those that cant get most prob will slowly slim down and then waste away.
when you say 1cm, total length or exclude tail? is it too small to move? seems very fragile.
maybe 1.5cm? ya maybe 1cm is still very small. bad with estimation. lolz

Arh.... Growout tip is out.

Bigger Tank water parameter is easier to control.

In such big tanks, how you manage to ensure they get to feed? Throw food at their hideout? Or throw n off light?

As why never sell at 1 inch..... well, mass breeders did that but I am just a hobbyist like normal people in the street. Even if up to 2 inches still very fragile to me, not sure why many people put for sale where the fries not even reached 1 inch. Probably tony who studied psychology can give us a good explanation. So a good size to get from the market is above 2 inches if that is the answer you want.
Thanks for sharing!

Such awesomeness! 20% of YOUR breeding result...already so many! BTW bud.....any better way to increase that 20% to 50~75% instead? I'm sure u've kept AT LEAST 100's 333 spawns liao....so are the results still the same....80% will die before reaching 2"? Pls share with us, much appreciated.

I've bad experiences with my 333 fries as in a short time of 1 week, only 1 survive out of 50~80 fries (different batches/all less than 1.5"). All were doing well until they started dying few every day....until left 1. Consulted the pleco grandmaster Jo and redone the fries tank...hoping the problem will not reoccur for future breeding.

for such a big tank, the key is not to scatter the hideout. Keep it cornered to an area. You need to feed regularly... at least 5 times per day. I use a timer so able to let them eat while away working. imo, fries are more daring when they are hungry. so off lights or not is not that important.
