How so? I have been around since it started, there is of course some differences in all forums, but I don't see any issues which might discourage someone ( esp. serious goldfish hobbist ) from joining.

But I would like to point out that sometimes some newer member might get "told off" especially if they asked things that have already been discussed many times before, ie. those that never bother to search or read earlier threads. An another thing thats different is that no body will hold their horses when someone ask for opinion of (maybe) a new fish they bought.

I like that, if I asked for opinion on my selected fish, I would like to know whats bad about it and not whats good. I already know whats good about it, thats the reason I bought it right I am interested in what fault others can see but I can't, this will help me improve my knowledge in future when I want to buy again. On the other hand, those are also opinions of others, so you are entitled to disagree with them, that the foundation of a good discussion or debate.
