I dunno whether driftwood is too heavy but I do it for my bogwood which is relatively light. My bogwood floats, so I use those rubber suckers, tie them onto the bogwood which I had tied with moss and stick them onto the tank floor .... at one stage i even stick it onto the side of the tank ... bogwoods are relatively light so i think sticking to the side is ok but driftwood perhaps sticking onto the floor may be ok too.

Once when I had to urgently introduce a floating driftwood with moss into the tank I tied a gigantic piece of rock under the driftwood using a nylon string.
Since the below of the driftwood is not used and the nylon string will be covered by the moss its pretty fine to do that, but of course you need to have a decently thick substrate base to hide your rocks in. -Calvin |

I tie my bog wood to light diffusers and then lower it into the tank. Then, I pour in the substrate. The light diffuser will get covered by the substrate.
