Don't worry, it wouldn't be very messy or make the water cloudy, it will dissolved slowly

Thanks for the Info.
Just bought the mud rock.
The Functions i got from the retail site are

# Increasing good bacterial activities
# Improving water quality
# Deodorizing unwanted smells
# Reducing the number of water changes
# Re-mineralization of tank water for shrimp, fish and planted tanks.

There will be slight breakdown at the surface when first drop into water, the dust will sink into gravel after weeks and no longer visable. After the inital breakdown is very slow and you have a 'solid' rock. You can tie moss and fissdent on it.

Alternative, you can soak the rock in a cup of water for a day to remove all the inital break down, the use it in a tank. But i think this method is wasteful, as trace elements which the rock is very rich in will leak into the cup of water.

the packaging very slipshot, doesnt seem impressive.
Only gives me the idea that the person selling it is money faced.
Think ill try to source for better ones.
