arofanatics carnival 2011 – Flowerhorn Online Competition

Organized by Flowerhorn Club Singapore

Rules & Regulations

1. Competition Format & Eligibility
This competition consists of one single “Open Category” and is applicable to all breeds of Flowerhorn that are at least 12cm in total length. It is open to all FHCS members (except the president) and AF members who are residents in Singapore; as well as FHCS members who stay in Southern Malaysia.

2. Entry Procedure
a) Put your fish in a single tank with white light and heater (optional) but without any divider, tankmates and decorative ornaments.

b) Take 2 digital photographs showing the left & right full views of your fish and upload them into your photobucket account. The photographs must be unedited and resized to 640 to 480.

c) Do a video recording of your fish with duration of at least 30sec to 1 minute. Then upload the video into your youtube account.

d) Submit the 2 photographs (linked to photobucket) and video clip (linked to youtube) by PM in AF to dave6238 or by email to dave_ai@hotmail.com together with your name, AF nick, home address, hand-phone number and transaction reference number of your entry fee payment .

e) The fish entered for this competition must be owned by you and not borrowed from someone else. Your fish will be judged based on its attributes and not based on quality of your photographs and video clip.

f) There is no limit to the number of fishes you may enter provided all the materials are submitted on time and entry fees are paid up. No withdrawal of entries and no refund of entry fees will be entertained after submission is accepted by the Organiser.

g) Closing date for entries is 18 July 2011.

3. Entry Fee
$10 per fish for FHCS members and $20 per fish for non-FHCS/AF members. Payment is to be made by transfer of money via ATM or i-banking to the organizer’s bank account – DBS Autosave Account No: 033-001188-1. Please remember to note down the transaction reference number after you have done the transfer.

4. Judging Procedure
a) 3 overseas judges have been appointed to judge the entries and 3 FHCS members have been selected to do the compilation of the scores. The president of the club will serve as the head of jury to ensure that the judging process is carried out smoothly and fairly.

b) There will be 2 rounds of judging. In the 1st round, the judges will rank all the entries in order of merits and the scores will be compiled to derive the Top 10 fishes. The Organizing Committee Officers will then visit the finalists’ homes to verify fish ownership and to take new photographs and video clips of their fishes for the next round of judging. Any participant who refused to let the OC Officers enter his/her home or who are absent during the appointed date and time of visit will be disqualified from the competition and no appeal will be entertained.

c) In the 2nd round of judging, the judges will examine the Top 10 fishes based on the new photographs and video clips taken by the OC Officers and provide their scores for all the fishes. These scores will then be compiled to derive the final results for the competition.

2a) "Put your fish in a single tank with white light and heater (optional) but without any divider, tankmates and decorative ornaments."

Hi Dave, would like to clarify if this includes air stones and bits of gravel here and there?
Thanks!
