Advice on new 6X3X3 Arowana Tank
Hello fellow hobbyist and experts,
I need a sump filter plan with types of filter and medias if anyone here can help. I'm setting up a new 6X3X3 tank can't decide on any sump plans I found elsewhere. Does anyone have any good sump plan? There no limitation since I'm building it from scratch. Sump size is up to 6X2X2. |

flow recycling.
the original objective for recycling is for denitrification. IMO, not much improvement in efficiency if bioload is not sufficiently high. yes, I agree. better efficiency improvement to use the extra pump to increase exchange rate between main tank and sump.

I would use the extra pump to increase the exchange rate between main tank and sump.
also note the additional electricity consumption and also heat generation within the sump.

but it seems silly to purchase another 2x1260 to try if it can work. i do see people using those big fluval fx series pump 10-12k litres per hour with no issues. dont think 2 unit of 1262 get more than 8k litres/hr. I am now trying to get the pump out of the eheim 2260 to place inside the sump, and pump water to the 2260 cannister, so that the media in the 2260 will short of slow down the flow... Hope it works! |

different tank configurations will result in changes in flowrate and pressure.
got to trial and error. have fun playing around with it.
