Overhead Filters for Discus

Hi all, I do know that sponge filters are best for discus.

Just wondering do you all use overhead filters for your discus?

Mine gets cloudy eyes every time I use overhead filters...was wondering what is wrong?

I use overhead filters becoz I travel quite abit...and I do put a little bit of coral chips along with some bio rings to maintain water PH when I travel for longer periods.

What filter medias do you guys put inside the over head filters?

How often do you guys clean the medias?
