I've just change tank & my fish hates the white fl light with blue oyama on the 3 sides. It makes the tank too bright & I guess they hate it. Was using ocean blue light with black oyama on the old tank. Its been 2 weeks since I change to a new tank but my fish still cant settle down into the new environment. Partly becoz of smaller space (downgrade from 5ft to 4ft). Base is mixture of C0 & C1 coral sand. |

I am using only a normal T8 white light for the tank above. Not too bright. Maybe you off the light for the time. Your living rm light should penetrate some light into the tank. New enviroment might stress them a little. Give them a week to stable down. Maybe also add 5-6 tsp of epsom salt.

Noted bro.
So this epsom salt suppose to calm them down? Have 1 unopened box maybe i shud add some. Currently only using Seachem Tanganyikan buffer. For the light, I am considering wrapping it with those blue plastic (cant remember what they are call but easily available at Popular bookshop) |

422 tank with ohf supported by atman105 pump.
DIY lighting is those common fluorescent light with 30W hitachi tube. Bought my 2nd hand tank as a set with stand, 12 trays ohf & diy light. Will try to upload some pics as soon as i got my usb cable. |

My fronts color up after I did a water change. It seems that they enjoy the water change and when their color lighten up, I know that they want a good water change. Maybe the marine salt that I add soon after the water change helps to return the PH to the right balance. My Furcifer also color up after the water change.
I think keeping them blue like this in a bright tank with light substrate is really a challenge. Last edited by Ornata; 22-06-2010 at 03:30 AM. |
