My mis-identified BIG Female Super-RED
A very Sad Day again for me....
Got a Red that incurred injury to the tail-fin due to attacks in Comm tank... As fights in my Comms are common occurences nowsaday as i believe they r reaching maturity n trying to establish hierarchy amongst themselve. I paid no attention to attend to "his" injuries as i believe it will heal by itself (BIg Big Stupid mistake on my Part  )"He" went belly-up 2days ago...tried various means to stabilise "him" with salt solution,medication n pristine water condition for the last couple of days... This evening "he" took "his" last breath and Gave-up his struggle.... Did an autopsy...only visable cause of death = damaged tail n tail-fin rot SHock Discovery.....found egg-sags development in "HIS" stomach.... Seow liao..  A perfect 23inch Thin-FrameSuper Red...all these time thinking that He is a Male specimen .... turn out to be a "KL"- eggs-carrying-FEMALE... Heart-broken .....

Pity about your red bro, think its an understandable issue for you to just let them fight it out especially since they are getting close to maturity.
Maybe just a little unlucky that other factors like the fin rot took her life. Take care bro. |

It is a very Costly....silly mistake... My only consolation is that ....Hopefully ..... the larger specimen that wacked her is another ALPHA FEMALE..
