heheh. totally agree to you bro Eric. that's why don't intend to take them out. Feeder Shrimps make good scavenger, though they are hardly seen to be picking on algae, but the food that sunk to the soil, they are always ready to receive it with many "thanks-waving"

reason for my choices of livestocks
Food Particles Control:
Glass Shrimps - to scavenge the sunken food particle (around 5)

Pest Control:
Boraras brigittae - to feed on tiny worms due to uncleaned food particles (should be 5 too)
Microrasbora sp. "Galaxy" - to prevent hydra infestion (5)
these 2 species can also feed on the tiny food cles dropped to the bottom when they search around the tank.

Algae Control
Ottos - my loyal algae vaccuum (2-3)
Nerite Snails - my alternate algae remover (4)
Yamato - removal of hair algae etc (may be getting only 2)

Main:
Discus x 4

Bioload may be heavy for a 2ft, but they are all tiny poo-er.
I have 1 OHF and 1 submersible filter to take the bioload. Will reduce neccessarily should bioload gets heavy to maintain.

bro, i suggest you remove the terrestrial red plant. It will rot in your tank. And your discuses need space to swim...

Updated:
changes to the tank has been made. I can't find my Japonica.

Before

After

I re-adjusted my dw to make the diagonal slant from top left to bottom right. and a little valley. the previous arrangement took up too much space in the center of the tank, this arrangement though with more plants, created a little more space for my discuses to come.

As for the terrestrial red plant, it has become hydroponic style. :S
