Assimilation of New Citizens
With the large influx of new citizens, our country's fabric/culture is being changed by them.
The garhment who opened the floodgates is not doing enuf to assimilate them. Back in the 60s and 70s when we were building this nation, there were many campaigns held over the TV. Now with so many new citizens here to stay, its seems we need to rebuild this nation. It seems the gahment agencies are sitting on their behinds and not doing much about it. Hence will gather some ideas and push it to the agencies. One thing that immediately comes to mind is the road/traffic culture. In geylang, one can see many many pedestrian jaywalking...unlike places like Hanoi and HCM city. Driving on the expressways, one can see many heavy vehicles on the 2nd lane oblivious to the obstruction they are causing. Hence will be writing to the gahment to ask them start a media campaign to highlight the requirements we have to new citizens. eg to drive slow vehicles on the slow lanes! What do you think? Any comments/ ideas? |

Hehe, practically everyone in little India are jaywalkers, very hard to cure such urge to dash across roads, and walking in front of cars.
