thanks bro.. the original batch of hinos and goldens in the 2nd pic are from silane.
Looking at the pics, the general color is lower then what they should be, you can improve it by better filter and stronger and high kelvin light.

No temperature up and down will help too.

bro, you're spot on with regards to the lighting in this tank! lately, i haven't really been turning on their lights at all(ongoing battle with algae), and when i do, it's only for a couple of hours. Their whites are actually much thicker than this but i also notice that when i don't use any flash, the pics seem to make their whites turn out more 'translucent'..

Found two more berried females.. here's one of them, a golden.. i'm especially proud of this one cos she's my first golden offspring that got berried

as bro silane had mentioned, i'm starting to keep the lights on for this tank as i've noticed that they've been losing the thickness in their whites lately..

i wonder how do u guys keep temp <25 degC using fan
my fan cooled tank never reached below 26 degC even on the coolest days > <
