Aripama
Hi
Can you guys tell me the growth rate of aripamas and if they are legal to keep in Singapore. Saw a fish shop selling recently and I am interested. |

Any help? I am asking growth rate beacuse I need to know if it grows slow or fast so that I have time to save money to upgrade its tank or maybe save money to rent a pond when it gets too big

wow thats quite fast. Will keeping it in a smaller tank slow down the growth rate? I heard from a website that stunting the aripama is also an idea. Do you think this can be done?

it might not be feasible idea to stunt the arapaima in a small tank but instead it might break the glass tank into pieces

I'm keeping 2 currently and AVA did come to my place and check on me. The issue is that they are not legal to be sold to local hobbyists but meant for export only.
Another issue is that they can grow double in size when they are smaller and they grow super fast. They basically can be trained to accept any diet. Another thing is that they are very strong fish and may burst your tank glass if it's not thick enough to withold it banging against the glass out of the blue. A recent video I made with 2 of them in there. Both are tagged and sold by rainbow farm singapore. Both measuring less than 30 inches though. Currently been kept in my 6 footer tank with enforced glass.
