Hi I'm new regarding pleco, I noticed that every pleco owner's tank has driftwood, is it possible to put pleco in a bare tank?

I recently changed the smaller pieces of driftwood to larger pieces. I noticed that my panaques have shaved at least 0.3" off the circumference off my driftwoods in the last year. That means they are really chewing on them. Even if there are studies showing that they really aren't getting much nutrients off them, I would still put driftwood in the tanks. They must like chewing it either for food or for fun. If they no like, why they chew?
And always good idea to have driftwood for them to hide, especially when they are smaller. |
