Default Small White insects

Hi All,

Whenever i come office in morning nowadays, i noticed there
is approx. 4 - 7 white flying insects around my arowana water
tank.. just circling around it.. Then when I on my light and
aircon, it just flew away, dunno where..

Next morning same thing will happen.. Very small tiny insects.

My tank is placed in my office room, and thus no sunlight.

4 x 2 x 2 sump tank setup.. Water clear, bacteria added every
2 weeks.. Fish eat very well... no smell in water..

What is the causes of the flys, and any way to remove it ?

Thanks in advance again..

Check for uneaten food/ dead feeders etc in your sump overflow compartment, in your cabinet, behind the sump. Change your filter wool regularly.

Do the flies look like mosquito?
If yes, most likely is Midges.

The flies feed on anything they can find. Dried decaying food outside tanks is a possible draw for them. No?
The filter wool is wet/dry, possible for the flies to feed there too.

Thanks Dave, Ethanleow and Hack for advise..

Water is clear, cant find any leftover food inside sump.

It is not mosquito, but very tiny small white flies..
Dunno what it is..

Only the very bottom layer of my sump has some dirty
deposits, brown in color at bottom layer. Hard to clear that..
I was told it will surely accumulate there.. Had filtered it
out, but cant get rid of it totally... This is below the coral
chips etc...

It doesnt pose any harm, but trying to get rid..
